The logic of protecting the deep fried mars bar is unchallengable...

****

...under the EU's protected food name scheme:

"...the high-calorie snack would become known as the Stonehaven Deep Fried Mars Bar, ensuring its unique heritage is never lost."

If there's logic to protecting the pasty for its unique Cornishness surely there's every justification for this? What is more Scottish than the deep fried Mars bar.

Mind you they'll be trying to protect the parmo in Middlesborough next. That would be a step too far!
