Perhaps not a surprise to those politicians and bureaucrats actually plugged into real life:
A poll by May Gurney suggests the British public believe highway maintenance and improving local road networks should be the top priority for councils.
The research found 41% of the population wanted local roads improving compared with 33% which wanted better services for the elderly.
Perhaps Bradford's leaders will come to regret that 50% cut in highway maintenance then?
