When did journalists get to be experts on anything? Let alone medicine!

Hmm, can't help you out with the Dutch reporter - when anyone mentions the Arses, I mentally tune out, to preserve my sanity ;)
As for Angela Rippon, it seems her mother died a few days ago, after being afflicted with Alzheimer's for a number of years and being in the care system for a part of that time; I think she was interviewed as an 'informed layman', rather than an expert. But I could be wrong. Nothing new there, then. :)
